More news from the upcoming F4 movie

Specifically, that - surprise, surprise - they've changed Doom's origin story into something even less recognisable than the previous F4 films. Collider.com has an interview with Toby Kebbell:

KEBBELL: He's Victor Domashev, not Victor Von Doom in our story. And I'm sure I'll be sent to jail for telling you that. The Doom in ours—I'm a programmer. Very anti-social programmer. And on blogging sites I'm "Doom".

...And this right here is why I will continue to cry over the fact that Marvel can't get the F4 rights back.

I don't think anybody involved in these movies has any idea why people like the comic book characters at all. They seem to want to make everything more mundane and realistic, but the whole point of Doctor Doom's character is that he's larger than life and does everything on a grand scale.

If they're afraid to use the surname Von Doom because they think it's too silly, it's a pretty good sign that they haven't understood anything about the character at all.

I remember when there's a rumour that Doctor Doom will be a woman. One female Doctor Doom fans afraid that female!Doom will be bit*chy Reed Richard's ex-girlfriend that jealous of Sue because female villain and male hero must have a thing each other.
