James Robinson & Leonard Kirk to take over Fantastic Four

Newsarama has the news from NYCC: the current run of Fantastic Four will end after issue #16 and James Robinson and Leonard Kirk will be taking over for the relaunch. FF is also ending at issue #16, but no word on what will happen to the book after that.

I'm going to miss Allred on art. Can't say anything else, ecause I am unfamiliar with both of these creators.

Same here. Apparently James Robinson is the writer of the notoriously awful "Cry For Justice" story at DC, but from what I gather a lot of DC's worst "shock value" storylines are down to the higher-ups giving their writers orders on what to write, so it's kind of hard to say what he might do at Marvel. (That bit about beginning with "the demise of the Fantastic Four" makes me a tad nervous though.)

And, oh, wait, I didn't recognise the name at first, but after Googling it turns out Leonard Kirk did the art on Captain Britain and MI:13, which means he's the Doom versus Dracula on the moon guy. Well, I'm quite happy with that choice, then!

I haven't read Cry for Justice, but yeah, DC editorial has a habit of dragging their big boots all over their creators' vision, so.

That's really good art! Does the rest of the arc feature Doom at all?

Yeah - I love Kirk's version of Dracula from that series as well as his Doom. As I recall, Doom only has a couple of little cameos in the "Vampire State" arc, but Paul Cornell writes him pretty well, and MI:13 is a pretty fun series anyway. (Plus it introduces one of my very favourite new Marvel characters, Faiza Hussain. It's a real shame that it got cancelled so soon.) But I'm looking forward to seeing Leonard Kirk on Fantastic Four, anyway.
