This is very much a middle chapter, lots of setup and still only a brief cameo for Doom, so, just a short review:
Bucky and Natasha fight the machine-gun-wielding Russian gorilla. It escapes, thanks to the fact that it's also wearing a jetpack.
News of the assassination attempt on Doom has just broken: predictably, shooting him with a rocket launcher didn't do anything except piss him off. They figure that must have been the intention - it wasn't a serious attempt to take him out, but someone trying to cause an international incident. Bucky is able to ID the shooter as one of the sleeper agents, Arkady, and they realise the Red Ghost connection because of the ape.
Nick Fury gets them a lead on an auction in Chicago, and they get confirmation that an elderly Russian-accented scientist bought the sleeper codes. The auctioneer figured he had a grudge against Latveria, because he also bid for a Doombot. In an unknown location, Lucia Von Bardas tells Arkady that once the get the Doombot activated, things are going to get really interesting.
So... not much to say about this issue, really. It's all plot, plot, plot, without a lot of space for any character moments. The art is still great, very stylish and moody, and that carries it where otherwise it might be a bit bland. Next issue we are promised "Doom's wrath!" so hopefully things really will start getting interesting then.
