Yeah, the technicalities of it all are interesting to think about. The military story makes a lot of sense, I think, because it seems weird for a US university to go out of their way to recruit some kid from Latveria otherwise, no matter how much of a genius. How would they even have heard of him? Whereas the military are more likely to be keeping tabs on unrest in Latveria and interested in the stories about Doom's tech.
And gah, they seem to be piling on Doom cameos everywhere at the moment. I used to try and keep up with all this stuff when he was usually only popping up in one storyline at the time, but it's too much when already got his own ongoing plus he's all over the place and it's frequently unclear if it'll turn out to be a Doombot or an AU or future version or what.
It'll be interesting to see if the Mephisto stuff in Doctor Doom #3 makes any reference to their recent encounter in Infamous Iron Man. I hope at least it means, given the interview quotes about Triumph and Torment, we're going to be seeing Doctor Strange show up at some point.
