Doctor Doom cast in Fantastic Four reboot

Fox have announced their Doctor Doom for the Fantastic Four movie - it's Toby Kebbell.

I... am really not feeling it. (And kind of eye-rolly that their shortlist for the role was all Brits, since no doubt that means they're planning on Doctor Doom having an English accent rather than any attempt to make him actually sound like he comes from Eastern Europe.) At least there's hope that since he's not a well-known face they might actually allow him to wear the Doom mask for more than five seconds this time around?

I want to be optimistic, but they completely failed at doing a movie version of Doom before, and nothing I'm hearing about this movie is giving me much impression that they've learned from what they did wrong. (Stuff like it being "darker" and "grounded" and not feeling like a "larger-than-life superhero thing", which... is not a sense-making tack to take with a Fantastic Four movie at all, let alone with a character like Doom.)
